TOPIC: Consultation on Canal and River Trust Boat Licencing

Consultation on Canal and River Trust Boat Licencing 14 Oct 2017 12:32 #95362

The Stage 3 questions have been compiled using the outcomes of Stage 1 and 2.

The questions are not what CRT WILL be doing - we've got some input (apparently)

At the end of each screen there is a FREE-TEXT box to write your idea/alternatives/objections.
They cannot think of *every* option for change, so suggest your own.
Us boaters often moan that we're not asked, or ignored, so please have your say!

I am not a licence holder, as the licence is in Cliff's name, but I have completed the consultation after requesting the link, as I have lived onboard for 12 years.

Further to the above!

When you ring the number it is the CRT standard helpline. Ignore options to licence your boat or make a donation and key in 3.

Emphasise that you are a boater but don't have a CRT licence at the moment - they will take your name and email address and send you a link to fill in the survey. You can only do this once as their system picks up your computer details .

Hello ,

We have now reached Stage 3 in the consultation and this is the public phase.

Please see here for more details, how to contribute and the questions you will be asked to comment on. If you are not a CRT licence holder then you need to opt in on 0303 040 404040

It is important that we comment as the meat of the proposal is a an area charge or surcharge for wider boats - totally unjustified!

Moreover the options for changing the prompt payment discount introduce further complication and confusion of aims.

Remember our base case is for the same charge for all boats regardless of size - rowing boat, cruiser , narrowbat or wide beam use exactly the same amount of water if alone in the lock.

Please find ten minutes to respond!!
