MAIB have just published the accident report into the grounding of CV24 in October 2017.
On a quick scan what I found most shocking is the image (see attached pics) which appears to show 12 of the World's best skippers all racing like marine lemmings to ground their expensive identical yachts. Only CV21 looks like they possibly knew what they were doing, until you read they were tipped off by a phone call (and may have noticed the lit buoy they were about to hit). Not to mention the the previous 2 fatalities from CV21 .

Still if that doesn't shock you wait till you get to page 31 'Previous or similar accidents' - 20 'CVnn' yacht groundings in the last 5 years.
