A few might be interested in this. I have once or twice come across mention of a barge type known as an "Engelse Bak" but was not sure what they were. I have also seen the odd strange barge in the past with a stern reminiscent of a Thames Barge or Wey barge. This is the answer, and some remain. These were apparently the first welded steel vessels, from 1917!
