Hi Andy,

Thank you, I will check the Wateways Guide. I’m just reviewing all my options , how far I can get my barge before I need a skipper. The crossing is becoming an all consuming obsession. It will be a relief once it done.

Hello Mary,

There are waiting moorings above the last lock - for a reasonable time - some are chargeable. See Waterways guide for Plassendale-Nieuwpoort, Kanaal for further longer term options.

Are you reviewing your plans? Landfall UK?

You don't need a barge to join - a dream of boating in Europe will do'. See www.barges.org

Can anyone suggest where to moor up in Nieuwpoort if you are waiting to do the channel crossing? Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks.
