Haris, the only other thought I can offer is to try contacting the marina at Basse-Ham .

They are very helpful there and speak good English. They may be able to arrange a truck delivery for you?

It’s the cheap Luxembourg fuel effect I guess. On the roads you don’t expect to find fuel easily within 100 km of Luxembourg. Even the big motorway services at Arlon does not sell fuel, because everybody buys over the border in Lux.

Fill enough cans to get up to Remich.

Balliol.

I’m at Metz from yesterday and unfortunately I’ve been informed that there is no way to refuel here and the worst is that the refueling station at Schwebsange marina is not open!
So, it seems that I’m in trouble…
Obviously the option of jerry cans doesn’t work for me, with double DAF (2x120 hp) in my engine room.
Any information about refueling alongside on Moselle river would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks

The fleet was certainly changed on the LOT. Does anyone have any information as to the final outcome of that mooring catastrophe?

Before relying on it check it's still open.
A lot of hire bases have been "rearranged" over the last year or so, due to the lack of clients due to Covid.

Boats have even been taken from Saint Jean de Losne to be put on the Thames.

Things aren't necessarily what they were ☹️

Yes

By using Jerry cans from the supermarket on the left before the turn off for Toul.

It's not the easiest, but ok if you take your time.

I don't know of a canal side pump where you can get a barge in.

If you go over the enbranchisement to the Marne au Rhin, and turn left towards a couple of km down on the left towards Nancy is an Intermarche supermarket with diesel, very easy, even use one of their trollies, two Jerry cans at a time.

This is an easier option.

There's a hire base on the left MaR going east that has diesel, (expensive 50% uplift 4 years ago) that smaller boats can get to.

Thank you Peter,
Before I started this thread, had a look at the knowledge base and didn’t see any refueling station at the Vosges canal or Moselle.

It may be worth looking at the Waterways Guide under Knowledge Base. Choose the waterways you're travelling and tick only the Fuel box.

There are also fuel stations within walking distance at Pont-a-Mousson, Pagny-sur-Moselle and Metz itself, but another option if you really need to refuel alongside and you have the time is to head a further 60kms downstream to Schwebsange at PK 237.5, where the marina has a fuel quay just inside the entrance (see pic below).

Luxembourg fuel prices are the cheapest you'll find anywhere, so it would probably repay the cost of the extra diesel getting there.

Hello to everyone,
Does anyone have any idea where can I refuel(diesel) from Charmes(canal de Vosges) on the route up to Metz(canalize Mozelle)?
Thanks
