Hi Kevin,Kevin Wade wrote: Hello Chris
I was able to more alongside an ex members DB to disembark my friend. They had stayed the night there without problem. It looks pretty good actually. But the ex member thinks it might have a more commercial or passenger purpose.
I didn't get off to look but the photos I later saw suggested it was quit new or refurbished.
Its very close to the railway station.

Could I get you to give a bit more detail please? It's a mooring spot I have in mind for the future. And of course - please update the waterways guide entry for Arles!
When you say "moor alongside" where exactly was that? If that was a mooring at Arles, then you are saying that the ex-members were able to stay successfully? What sort of boat was it? The comment about the purpose being commercial or passenger I take to mean it was not set up with bornes and water - not an issue really, but if it was to do with the type of moorings (ie dolphins), a bit more detail would be welcome.
Thanks for taking the time to post the update.

I was in Arles in November (without the boat) and took some snaps of the Arles à Bouc canal écluse and the empty bassin beyond.

Bit of a nuisance Arles with no moorings.
If cheap and lucky petit Rhône (Fourques KB entry??) and walk/bus. Darn catamaran went past us on the Rhône and grabbed the mooring.
If lucky (you are likely too long) and time aplenty, Bellegarde and bus and cross same bridge as above (see KB).
Otherwise
train and accept that moorings around the area are hopeless. But options include Avignon, Beaucaire/Tarascon (via Canal du Rhône à Sète, no Rhône side mooring), Nimes. There used to be a train in Aramon but a SNCF search fails now.
hire car
Enjoy the Camargue, much less frustrating and gobsmackingly beautiful. Horse flies a nuisance, get some insect repellant if steering from outside. Hope you get flamingoes.
Regards and feedback if you find a way!
