I just received an announcement from M Tillinac of VNF that the scheduled closure of the Marne for annual maintenance and improvements will now include the entire stretch from the Mont St Pere lock to and including the bief de Meaux. Originally it only went to Isles les Meldeuses. It seems that the contractor who is doing extenisve and long term work on a new barrage in Meaux needs to dismantle a passerelle and some quai installations and that work is now scheduled as part of the already planned Marne closures. That will be from 10 October to 13 November, There will be a general Avis on the expanded closure through the normal system soon.
