This ship I think:  www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:3352391/mmsi:244010774/imo:0/vessel:TRIVOR

110 metre tanker, Dutch registered.

The bow prop would most likely be a ducted unit which can apply thrust in a choice or mix of four directions. It was certainly thrusting to starboard prior to the incident. Not possible to say whether it was thrusting aft pre-incident due to the forward motion. Perhaps a bit of rebound?

it will be interesting to find out what happened. It’s a long time since we last sailed through Brussels but as I recall these bridges lift quite quickly, so perhaps the skipper was over-anticipating and the bridge mechanism failed. Perhaps another case of remote operation problems? But I should not pre-judge!

Balliol.

Great video John, thanks for link
Boat name Trivgh. Impressive immediate reversing using fore thrusters which I assume are from a central pump.
Regards
Chris
