Okay - Its official - Nivernais opens 9am 08/07 between pk 113.360 and pk 174.118 … fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞

Unfortunately it remains closed until 13/07 between pk 0.000 and pk 15.118 due to over-run of the repairs at the Cercy-La-Tour barrage.

We’re being unofficially advised that navigation could restart on 8th - lots of work being done on the weirs, and currently low pounds are starting to fill ahead of us. We will see … 😘

Conscious that whilst I post this info on the FB pages, I’m lax in doing so to here:

SO - Nivernais closure between Clamecy and Auxerre now extended. Potentially until 8th July, according to the local eclusier, but no official date given on the relevant Avis. It’s a case of “wait and see” 😏

Yes, Canal du Nivernais between pk 113.670 (écluse n°47 VS des Jeux) and pk 174.118 (écluse n°81 VS du Batardeau) closed until July 1st. I think other stretches further south are also now closed, but I’ve binned those Avis - this is the stretch I’m stuck on at ecluse 65, Sery!

Heavy rain last night, continuing now and speculation from local VNF staff is that it will remain closed for a further week, but nothing official yet.

Last night the Bourgogne closed between pk 18,627 (St-Florentin) and pk 86,485 (Arlot) due to ‘flotting material’.

While this Avis a La Batellerie refers to the river Yonne north of Auxerre Judy Evans has posted elsewhere (I have been told) that the Nivernais is currently closed until Monday and could be closed until the 8th July.
Cheers,
Bob

Closure of Yonne below Auxerre extended, probably to 8 July. See attachement.
