For anyone considering entering or leaving via Calais. The bridge at Coulogne on the Canal du Calais was struck by a bar car on Thursday night (3rd Apr 25) which ended up in the canal. I belive the driver is ok and I've seen pictures online of the car out of the water. I don't know what, if any damage was done to the bridge. I was sitting at Hennuin Lock waiting to go through the canal when told by the VNF of the unkown delay. I'm now back in Dunkirk. If considering this route in the near future consider calling the VNF on 0033 660 59 04 28 to check the status and to book transit thorough when it reopens. The VNF have been super helpful.
