Here's the story about the leaks on the Canal du Centre at Chagny as of April 29th with some interesting

We are returning to Avesol in Montceau les Mines at the end of this month and had hoped to head to SJDL - is there any more news on when the canal will reopen? - Thanks

I fear the canal is not in a sound state. Travelling the lengths from Digoin we noted the water level down some 0.5m to avoid leakage through heavily corroded steel piling. I think the canal needs a lot of TLC.
Beware if you draw more than 1.3m.

I had contact with Ian and Caroline in Neeltje last week and they aborted a trip up the Nivernais because the Centre was still closed; info from the Chalone and Decize ports. It’s a mystery to me as the closure didn’t show up on the weekly network report.

I can’t see an update to the Avis dated 11th April. Has anyone heard when the Canal de Centre is likely to reopen?

We've over wintered in Digoin and we're intending to leave for the Soane on the 29th April. Unfortunately the canal will not reopen on the 2nd May. The best expected is June with no idea if early or late June. Hey ho the unpredictability of boating. After Covid in 2020-21 and lack of water in 2022-23 we're getting used to not doing what we planned. Maybe planning for Plan B should be our main plan.

Not deliberately, but just renewed my annual subscription and was having a look at ways we might need to get to Auxerre. And they seemed to be the day before I did that (both were on the 11th April, I had read the post when I rose on 12th) when you probably had already looked, and prior to PCN picking them up (weekend too).
Now Navi on the other hand requires the right level of zoom at least on my copy on Android to see the notices.

Is there anything in particule you have done in Waterkarrten to get the POIs to refresh. In my app all of the Countries except France update daily, France doesn’t update at all.

Not sure, may have been on the Waterkaarten (possibly based on a prior version of the notice) popup that attracted my interest. But I agree the pdf does NOT support a final date for the closure.

Where did you find the planned reopening date, Chris? I couldn’t see it on the Avis, other than the statement that the expiry will be “prochain Avis”. I’ve posted to the CA EIWS forum so it would be good to be able to update it 😏

chagny bief has a leak. Closed also from 11 April. Planned reopening  2 May.
