I’m delighted to share some good news regarding the Canal de Bourgogne – In my view one of the prettiest canals in France. Many of us have been aware of various stories, rumours and news articles circulating in recent months regarding either the possible or imminent closure of the central section of the Canal de Bourgogne from the Pouilly tunnel (Pouilly en Auxois) to Venarey. This evening I’ve received an email from M. Michel Baduel, Vice President, ANPEI advising that Mme Evezard, Director General of the VNF has written a letter confirming that this sector of the Canal de Bourgogne will not close in the next five years. This is great news for all of us plaisanciers as well as the many communities along the Canal de Bourgogne who benefit from our passage through. Hopefully now many more of us will use this canal to help demonstrate it’s interest and value. Please share this with your contacts and any related associations
