Update: the ecluse is repaired however now there is a leak and an entire section of the canal (pk 53.8 to pk 56.6) is closed. It is scheduled to be repaired and opened by May 30. But word on the street is that could open as early as Tuesday May 26. I’m on this section now waiting around with other boaters, I’ll update when the canal is fully open.

The canal du Rhône au Rhin is closed at the lock in Thoraise. The effectively shuts off the connection between Dole and Besancon. The VNF said there was a calamity and closed the lock on April 25 and expects to have it repaired by the afternoon of May 20.
