Good news that this scruffy marina is to be improved. Far too many long stayers with boats that are never likely to cruise again. It is such a beautiful city, it deserves more visitors specially ones visiting by boat.
The other basins are underutilised but there's no suggesting that visitors will be able to stop there for a day or two. But if "spring 2027" means April or mid-May and this is achieved, all good.
Another nice place to moor up while visiting the city is the disused lock chamber just to the east of the city. Slightly precarious pedestrian access down a very narrow wall but quiet, safe, free, and shaded by a weeping willow tree.

VNF have announced that the port de plaisance at Nancy (port Saint Georges) will be closed from 1st October 2026 until spring 2027 for reconstruction works.

The original notification in French is attached. A machine translation in English is as follows:

Ladies and Gentlemen,
As part of the project to redevelop and expand the Nancy marina, led by VNF in partnership with the Greater Nancy
Metropolitan Area, the current manager of the site,Saint-Georges port will be closed to boat parking from October 1, 2026,
in accordance with a decision by the current operator of the marina.
It should be noted that no stopping or parking will be possible for the entire duration of the works.
This closure will allow for major works, including the dismantling and replacement of pontoons as well as work on water and
electricity networks, in order to modernize the port's infrastructure and sustainably improve the quality of service offered to
boaters.
The reopening of the marina is planned for spring 2027
